Chips: A Hometown Hero (Off Lead Publications) is a historical fiction, based on the true-life adventures of the most highly decorated K9 hero from World War II. This book, for ages 9 and up, is about the importance of home, friendship and loyalty during one of the most challenging times in United States history. Kali Leads the Way (Off Lead Publications) is about a humanitarian mine detection dog named Kali. It's Kali's job to search for dangerous land mines that are buried in the ground in her homeland of Cambodia. When a young boy becomes sick, Kali must prove she has the qualities of a top mine detection dog and lead the boy, his father, and her handler over a treacherous mountain path to the nearest hospital in Kampot City. The book's lovely watercolor illustrations are by New York area artist Dana Kash.

YA HISTORICAL/MAGICAL REALISM SET IN THE HUDSON VALLEY

I'm currently working on a YA Historical/Magical Realism novel set in New York City and the Hudson River Valley. Because of the historical period in which it takes place (1840's NY), this might also be called a Gaslight Fantasy.

MIDNIGHT

I continue to gather notes for a non-fiction memoir about my life with The Cats of Stone Ledge. The working title, based on a very dear little feral kitty, is Breakfast with Midnight.
